What is this about???

School spirit and Cheerleaders, could there be a more exciting pair?!  You are the sort of person who can thoroughly appreciate and enjoy both, especially in the name of a good cause—such as the children of our community!  Please join us in supporting Santa Rosa High School Co-Ed Cheer Team raise funds to attend USA National Cheer Competition in Anaheim in March of 2010. Now in its 80th year, Santa Rosa High School has long been known for its colorful and spirited student body.  In addition to being an integral part of Orange & Black Fridays at Santa Rosa High School, over 80% of the team is Academic Athletes with an average GPA of 3.2!! Your donation benefits the young men & young women in your community to attend one of the nation’s prestigious high school events, USA National Cheer Competition.

This year we are requesting a donation that will help us to raise the funds to reach our goals to attend this year’s National Cheer Competition. Cash or auction items are definitely accepted and appreciated. You will be listed on our website as a USA Nationals Cheer Competition Supporter

Recent cuts to school funding for our cheer program make your support of our kids more important now than ever. Monies raised by your contribution will enable us to provide cheerleading uniforms for the 6 boys on our team, hotel accommodations and transportation for team members to the event. The USA National High School Cheer Competition event will be shown on ESPN in April (date and time to be determined).

Cheer teams have historically been considered a club, not an actual sport. The increased awareness of what cheerleaders actually do; dance, tumble, stunt, and cheer has placed this sport on the map! Our teams fundraise all year long from raffle ticket sales to cookie dough to pay for the $1,400 cost per cheerleader per year. Competition teams cost significantly more because of competition fees (Up to $110 per person per event), travel expenses and accommodations. It is only through contributions from people such as you that we are able to provide these hard working kids with a huge reward.
